Who can attend Tui Ridge Holiday Camps?
Our camps are designed for kids aged 8–13 (school Years 5–8). Whether it’s their first time away or they’re seasoned campers, everyone is welcome!
What kind of activities will my child do?
Each camp is packed with fun and adventure! Activities often include high ropes, archery, mountain biking, orienteering, team challenges, wide games, craft, and more. We keep the days full of energy, but also make space for rest and reflection.
Are the camp staff trained and experienced?
Absolutely! Our instructors are trained in safety and outdoor education, and our leadership team includes a Camp Mum — a caring adult who acts as a nurse and emotional support for campers. She’s there to help with homesickness, first aid needs, and any little hiccups along the way.
Where will my child sleep?
Campers stay in comfortable cabins or bunk-style lodges, with separate areas for boys and girls. Leaders stay nearby and do regular checks to ensure everyone is safe and settled.
What kind of food is provided?
We provide kid-friendly, nutritious meals every day. We can cater for most dietary needs — just let us know during registration. Our catering team makes sure no one goes hungry!
Is there a faith-based component to the camp?
Yes! Tui Ridge Park is a Christian camp, and we include short, engaging faith sessions each day. These might include music, games, Bible stories, and conversations about God’s love. It’s always fun, age-appropriate, and inclusive.
What should my child bring?
You’ll receive a full packing list before camp, but essentials include comfy clothes for outdoor activities, a sleeping bag, toiletries, a water bottle, and a great attitude! We’ve got spare gear on hand if anything’s forgotten.
Can my child come with a friend?
Of course! There’s a place on the registration form to request a friend to be in the same cabin. We do our best to make sure they’re placed together.
What if my child gets homesick?
It’s normal for some campers to feel a little homesick, especially on their first time away. Our Camp Mum is specially there to support children emotionally and help them feel safe, settled, and cared for. We always communicate with parents if needed and work together to make camp a positive experience.
